Tips On How To Do Magic Tricks For Free!

I'm often asked what the best way to start to learn how to do magic tricks would be, and although it can be different from person to person, I'm sure I can provide a few hints and tips that may help and probably more importantly, – what you should try to avoid.

I think the most important thing to do when just starting to dabble in magic, is to learn a few simple magic tricks that can be done without having to use any gimmicked apparatus or special props. I mean magic tricks that can be done using ordinary items that can often be borrowed and handed out for examination after the miracle has been performed.

This can be really stunning for any lay audience, as they are so used to seeing magic tricks and illusions on TV and video, where fancy and often expensive props are used and also where camera tricks and clever editing are used to create a more exciting TV program. Read the rest of this entry »

I am writing a paper on how magic uses math to do magic tricks and card tricks.

It is however, equally or arguable more important that you learn to be comfortable performing in front of an audience since, as a performer, that is your place of work. Two Easy Card Tricks

I will instruct you today two easy card tricks. One cooler than the other.

Let's begin with the 1st trick.

Applying mathematics, you can determine two cards that someone has preferred.

For the begining make sure all Kings, Tens, Jacks and Queens, have been transferred from the pack of cards. Aces will be Ones (1).

Performance :

Enquire someone from the viewing audience to shuffle the cards. Pick up a pile of cards and carry them in your hand, expanded in a fan form. Ask the individual to take a card. Enquire the individual to memorise it and to set it back in the pack of cards.

Enquire the chosen person to doublevduplicate the amount from the card he chose, then to add 5. After that ask him to multiply that number by 5. Expect him to keep in mind this amount.

Encourage him to see a different card in the pack of cards, and to add its value to the total number. He will tell you in this moment the complete amount.

In your head, subtract 25 from the number. The two digits you gain are the two cards he took.

For Example – they choose a Seven, then an Eight.7 doubled = 14 plus 5 = 19. Multiply 5 times = 95.Eight(second card) added to amount = 103. You take off 25 = 78.He picked a Seven and an Eight.

This was the first easy card trick. Now here's how to do the 2nd easy card trick : Read the rest of this entry »

An Easy Disappearing Coin Act

Invisible coin tricks are a great, easy way to entertain kids at a party. To make a coin disappear, hold any small coin on the right fingertips. Bend your left arm, putting the hand near the left ear. Place the coin on the left elbow, cover it with the right fingers, and rub it with a circular motion.

"Did you know that if you rub a coin against your elbow like this, it becomes smaller and smaller?" As you say this, lift your fingers slightly and allow the coin to drop to the floor as though accidentally.

"It'll never work if I do that." Bend down and pick up the coin with the fingers of the left hand. Pretend to transfer the coin from the left to the right hand, but actually retain it in the left fingers. You simply place the left fingers on the right palm, close the right hand, and return immediately to your original position, left hand near the ear, right hand on the elbow. Don't feel guilty about this action and don't do it too fast; that will only create suspicion. Just do it naturally.

Continue rubbing the right fingers against the elbow. Meanwhile, the left fingers secretly push the coin into your left ear. "This rubbing gradually wears the coin away until it becomes very thin." Read the rest of this entry »

Chemistry Magic Tricks

Just about everyone remembers going to a magic show when they were small and coming away enthralled and amazed at the miraculous feats which the magician performed, right in front of their eyes. But did you know that some of the tricks you saw performed were chemistry magic tricks, or rather, magic tricks using the science of chemistry to function? Who would have thought that science would enthrall us?

Although it might not seem possible, some of the most fun magic tricks to perform are chemistry magic tricks. These tricks have their base in science and sound theories of chemistry. These are also not only a good way for the beginning magician to impress friends, but they are also a good way in which to get into the groove of chemistry.

Obviously there are many people, kids in particular who have chemistry rammed down their throats on a daily basis, who won't take to these chemistry magic tricks if they know to begin with that there is any chemistry involved. These are the die-hard chemistry haters.

Nothing to worry about though, even these people can be turned to like at least some aspects of chemistry once they see chemistry magic tricks for themselves. The trick, if you will forgive the pun, lies in springing the trick on them without telling them that you are going to use chemistry to pull your trick. Read the rest of this entry »
