Question by GREEN DAY: How do I do simple card tricks?
I just started magic today so all i have is a deck of cards. Any info would be great. Thanks!

A simple tip before any card trick is to dazzle the audience with crazy shuffling skills. Shuffle two to three times with different shuffles it makes you look like a pro at with cards. You can spread out the cards with your hand on a table and flip the first one and you have a domino effect repeat this twice and swiftly bring the cards together in a neat deck. Then do the bridge and ear shuffle. If this is done very quickly it looks like your a professional dealer!

CARD TRICKS – ESSENTIAL MAGIC FOR BEGINNERS

Why is it that most Magicians use card tricks in their act? Did they start out entertaining in Gambling Dens and Casinos? Or is it that the 'card sharps' had to learn magic card tricks in order to cheat at Poker?

Whatever the reason, Card Tricks are an essential part of any Magician's performance. Some require difficult sleight-of-hand techniques, most just need you to distract your audience while you 'do the deed', many can be done in full view. A few need gimmicked decks or pre-prepared decks in order to work.

The marked deck is a rarity these days; after all, who needs to remember 52 different secret markings, all small enough to go unnoticed by the audience? Far easier to 'force' your victim to pick a specific card (she thinks she had free choice, but we know better!) then 'control' the card to the top or bottom of the deck where it sits until you magically produce it. In my opinion it depends on the opponents.

If they are beginners then even one without much experience in the tricks is a sure winner. But if it is with World-wide pros then : Good luck, You’ll really need it because in my opinion they are just as experienced in the tricks than the person you mention.

Also if the person can’t conceal his “cheating” then he’s caught for sure.

Card tricks

maybe the one where magician says “pick a card, any card” and then the person picks a card puts the card back in the deck. Then the magician finds it….. or other card tricks

You need to learn how to hold the deck of cards in the mechanic’s grip and how to pinch the deck. Go to your local library and take out a book on card tricks. There are some good books out there, as well as some bad books. One big secret of being a magician is the “patter.” The talking up of the person or the crowd while you manipulate the deck. It’s truly an entertaining art form.
